Glenbrook Pull-Through Scarf Downloadable Knitting Pattern

The Glenbrook Scarf is designed for less knitting and more warmth. It is half the length of a traditional winter scarf, but the pull-through channel allows you to easily and securely tie this scarf around your neck. The scarf starts from the loop. Stitches are cast on using Judy’s Magic Cast On and then you knit in stockinette stitch for a bit. Then, the top edge is joined with the cast on edge to form a tube. The remainder of the scarf is worked in ribbing with yarns held double. The edge is finished with a tubular bind off. The pattern includes a photo guide of each step, there’s no need to worry if you haven’t tried some of these skills before.

Finished Size: 9.5” / 24 cm wide and 30.5 (34.5)” / 77.5 (87.5) cm long.

Yarn: 440 (510) yards / 400 (470) meters of Heavy sport weight or light DK yarn.

Solid Color sample is shown in Harrisville Designs flyWHEEL, 170 yards (155 m) per 50g skein; 100% pure virgin wool.

Hand dyed sample is shown in MollyGirl Rockstar DK, 300 yards (275 m) per 50g skein; 100% American superwash merino.

Needles: Size 8 (5mm) circular needles with a 24-32” (60-80 cm) cord, or size needed to obtain gauge. Size 10 (6mm) needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 16 sts x 24 rows = 4 x 4” (10 x 10 cm) square in stockinette stitch on smaller needle, (measured unstretched)

15 sts x 20 rows = 4 x 4” (10 x 10 cm) square in 1 x 1 ribbing stitch on larger needle (measured unstretched).
