Learn Stacked Stitches with Fascination Wrap - Feb. 14 All day
In this class students will start a stacked stitch project and learn this exciting technique in a way tailored to fit the mindset of a lace or stranded colorwork knitter. Stacked stitches are a type of increase and decrease used to create vertical movement within a row and extreme, wavy stripes without stranding on the wrong side of the piece or the use of other traditional colorwork methods. After an introduction to the basic principles of this technique in class, we will cast on a scarf or swatch and discover how each row of stitches fits together to form a flat fabric. We will learn how to move markers, keep track of stitch count, and to fix mistakes in a stack pattern. We will also learn to weave in ends at the end of each color stripe to save time during finishing.
Skill Level: This class is best suited for Advanced level knitters or adventurous beginners who prefer reading charts.

Color-Blocked Brioche Class Feb 15 9:00 - noon PST
Brioche stitch and Intarsia colorwork are best friends. In fact, it’s easier to do intarsia with 2- color brioche than it is with stockinette or garter stitch! In this class, we’ll review 2 color brioche stitch, then cast on a flat swatch. Using a combination of shaping and intarsia, students will knit a wavy color swatch. In the second half of class, students will learn how to modify their swatch, how to work in the round, and how to add intarsia elements to existing brioche pattern.Skill Level: Intermediate, familiar with 2-color brioche.

Trypophobia Shawl Class Feb 15 1:30-4:30 PST
There are many ways to form large holes or in your knitting. My least favorite way to achieve holes is MOTHS. The Trypophobia Shawl uses my favorite technique to create big holes. We will be combining some clever increases and decreases to create openwork motifs in the shawl project. Students will have the opportunity to cast on a shawl project and work the first few pattern repeats in class.
Skill Level: Intermediate or advanced beginner

Center Out Knitting Feb 16 9:00 - noon PST
This class is a guided tour of the possibilities of center out accessories. We will look at 3 different cast on methods for center out projects and the unique strengths of each method. After casting on, we will try out different arrangements and types of increases to build different shawl, blanket, and scarf shapes such as a square or other regular polygon, rectangle, oblong, almond, and classic circular “pi” shawl. Many traditional lace and colorwork motifs can be converted to work with these shapes for spectacular results. By the end of the class, students will feel confident using these cast on methods to create center out accessories and add stitch and color patterns to various shapes.
